Euskaltel La Kantera Pro presented by Volcom - Day 1 Recap
Great day of skateboarding on the first day of the Euskaltel La Kantera Pro presented by Volcom. For the very first time the contest hosted a women division, and Yndiara Asp qualified first for Saturdays finals, with some tricks that some Pros would like to get in their bag. A bunch of legends such as Nicky Guerrero and Omar Hassan signed up in Masters division and local host Alain Goikoetxea made his debut in this category with qualifying in first, destroying his home park like only him knows how to. In the Pro division, qualifiers went down and the action didn t stop, skaters battled for 9 spots to join the 7 invited pros of the Saturday semifinals (Grant Taylor, CJ Collins, Kalle Berglind, Ivan Federico, Danny Leon, Robin Bolian and Rune Glifberg). Unfortunately young sensation Marcel Cama didn t make the cut as well as Swedish smooth operator Aron Buzas, see full results below. The day ended with big concerts for all and competitors BBQ behind the ruins to keep the vibes high. Stay tuned for finals day today and if you can t make it, check out the live webcast from 4pm CET lakanterapro.com Also don t miss the shenanigans and behind the scenes @volcomskate #lakanterapro

Volcom x GMJ Collection Launch Party
Last night was the VOLCOM x GMJ Collection launch party at START Los Angeles.  We spent many months planning this event and we can't believe that it's over! As the sun started setting, crowds quickly started forming a line around the block. The energy was contagious and we knew it was going to be an unforgettable night. The crowd was bigger than we could ever imagine and we couldn't be happier about it. Every corner of the lot was utilized to entertain our guests in the best way possible. We set up custom screen printing on site with our GMJ Raglan Tees. We had a mobile Photo Booth were people could take pictures anywhere they pleased. There was a pop up shop available for guests to shop the collection right then and there. The live art battle between the talented Natasha Lillipore and Jillian Evelyn was something we'll never forget! The A-list entertainment kept guests dancing throughout the night courtesy of Georgia's boyfriend DJ Josh Ludlow & her best friend DJ Alexandra Richards. The band Deep Vally stole the show with their amazing live performance. We kicked things off with a very private and intimate VIP dinner with guests including Alexandra Richards, Suki Waterhouse, Ally Hilfiger and more. Pizza Nista provided us with individual custom pizza boxes for the VIP dinner. So cute! Georgia looking gorgeous as usual. Julie Edwards & Lindsey Troy from Deep Vally at the VIP dinner. The crowd enjoying their delicious pizza from Pizza Nista!   As the VIP dinner was winding down, Georgia quickly hopped into a vintage Porsche Speedster and drove off for her unforgettable entrance. She was escorted by 6 men on Harley's into the lot. The loud sound of the motorcycles caught everyones attention and they rushed over to see what was going one. As they entered the lot, Georgia May Jagger & her driver slowly entered and she hopped out of the classic car with everyone cheering and filming on their phones. The motorcycle dudes killing it! Georgia was greeted by friend, Alexandra Richards after her unforgettable entrance. The live art battle girls Natasha Lillipore and Jillian Evelyn hard at work! Volcom is proud to announce its VOLCOM X Georgia May Jagger premiere collection.
Volcom and Georgia May Jagger announce the premiere launch of Volcom x GMJ. Georgia May together with Volcom brand ambassadors Tina Kunakey, other hand-picked guests, and media celebrated the launch of Volcom x GMJ line at Pavillon Puebla in the heart of the Buttes-Chaumont Park in Paris. The event featured a Volcom x Georgia May Jagger pop-up shop, a complimentary custom screen-printed t-shirt stand, a vintage analog photobooth, open bar and an incredible music selection spinning nonstop. Guests danced all night long to a four DJ lineup. The night kicked off with Josephine De La Baume, followed by DJ tube and DJ Lube and Siobhan Bell. Josh Ludlow wrapped the night for Georgia and a full dance floor (only after extending his set an extra twenty minutes by crowd demand). Pavillon Puebla held a packed house, when the night shut down no one wanted to leave and we couldn't be happier about it. Check out party photos and video:

Volcom Kitzsteinhorn Banked Slalom Report
Good vibes at the finish line hangout @Martin Herrmann The 4th annual Volcom Kitzsteinhorn Banked Slalom is a wrap! As every year, it was a blast and it appears we must be doing something right because this year all starting spots filled up in less than 36 hours and we had more than 120 keen riders on the waiting list. Our snow wizard aka head shaper Martin « Lippi » Liebmann and his crew built a fun & user-friendly course the week prior to the event but little did we know that the biggest storm of the winter was to arrive just two days before drop in. It started snowing late on thursday and come saturday morning, 80cm++ had accumulated on top of the course. So while the lucky ones were shredding the deepest pow of the season under bluebird skies, a tight crew of slightly less lucky shovel slingers were sweating blood and tears while digging for their life in order to get the course ready on time. And somehow, miraculously, we did.  Race on! After the first run, the starting field was cut down to the 55 fastest overall, plus top 5 women, who each got a 2nd final run, with added style point on offer on a purposely-built hip directly after the finish line. Rumour has it Beckna and Terje topped the style awards. With free beers, burgers, drinks and fruit fon offer for all, and free tees for all racers, accompanied by the frenetic mc’ing by Larrogs and Stephane Grenet, the 200-300+ crowd at the bottom of the course went apeshit every time someone set a new best time. Nitro Snowboards also had a workshop to tune everyone’s boards and test their best sticks. @Theo-Acworth - Yes it was deep.. Simon Pircher getting some FINAL RESULTS (Insert here) @Martin HErrmann - 40+ winners, 1. After a massive 4-course dinner at our beloved hotel Active by Leitner (https://www.active-kaprun.at) to refuel the energy tanks we went straito lino to the Medieval Castle for live performances by Astroboy and Superglu, be sure to check them out on Youtube.
