2014 Volcom European Wild In The Parks Championships in Sevilla

Norway took it all at the 2014 Volcom European Wild In The Parks Championships in Sevilla!
Gard Hvaara, Øyvind Svensen and Oscar Hjellegjerde are the 2014 European Wild In The Parks Champions!
Some rainy weather was forecasted on the day of the event, which is very unusual for Sevilla, and forced organizers to change location. The original outdoor skatepark of Plaza de Armas is perfectly located downtown Sevilla, just next to the river, fun to ride, great to chill and watch the action but was soaked in the middle of the afternoon. Luckily, an indoor skatepark, the « Wild House », opened just a few weeks ago and lent us their facility for the event.

Burn set up a perfect « Parilla » with various tasty specialties to grill and gave away free drinks all day, and a great audience came from the city to witness the action.

2b Markus Heimdal

With little practice at the place, competitors managed to destroy the park.
The 14 and under division saw all kinds of tricks and slams, with a bunch of competitors under 10 years of age!

3 Daniel P

Daniel Pedersen is only 14 and can bigflip fs boardslide rails in his sleep

Markus Heimdal from Norway was the first one to attack the double kink round rail with a boardslide and a feeble grind, showing everyone how it’s done and finished up 5th. Frenchman Romain Dubourg skated fast and locked some good tricks on all spots, earning a 4th place result, while his buddy Hugo Rauch gave it all with cramped legs and finished 3rd.
Then Daniel « B » Pedersen put on a show with bigflips, cab flips all over the place, with a solid style and took the second place. He got cut from the win by his Norwegian fellah Oscar Hjellegjerde and bs flip attacks… Congrats to all.

4 Roar Kollnes hardflip bs five-o

Fernando took the 5th place landing tons of ledge bangers and cruising during the finals, while anotherNorwegian, Johannes Sundby took the 4th place.
Frenchmen did great also in this division with Robin Fournier and Anthony Renaud taking respectively the 3rd and 2nd place. But Øyvind Svensen was untouchable landing everything and took home the trophy, the bigger check and a Spanish guitar on top of all his prizes.

7 Carlos Neira bs tailslide

Then the level went up with the Open division with some serious hammers landed all over the place.
Needed to be mentioned are Alex Schultz from Germany that has a massive bag of tricks and a great flow, UK’s Charlie Birch with his sweet bs smithgrinds, Giorgio Zavos coming all the way from Greece and Cristian Calderon’s pop. But local ripper Carlos Neira was showing everyone what skating fast means, destroying every corner of « his » park and nailed the 5th place together with the JART « heavy metal » prize (a Motorhead, Slayer and Judas Priest boards pack).

Week 11: Cowgirl Clue "Utopia" | Volcom Cyber Singles Club
Burger Records x Volcom present Cyber Singles Club, features music from the newest breed of Burger Records stars in the making, recorded exclusively at Volcom Studio, and will be released for free download & streaming every Monday for 20 weeks beginning April 17th. Week 11: Cowgirl Clue - "Utopia"   Grab the free download Ashley Calhoun, aka Wu-Wu, aka Cowgirl Clue, made her Burger debut with one of the rarest and most sought-after Burger Records releases, the limited-edition Halloween split with The Garden from 2014. Since then she's expanded her excellent experimental pop sound into this wild one-woman project and released her debut EP, Limelite, on Burger Records cassette. Cowgirl Clue first experienced the Burger Records phenomenon from her hometown of Austin, Texas during SXSW. "My cousin owns a venue there called Hotel Vegas. They host Burgermania every year, so I started going and getting to know them," say Ashley. "Then I moved to Orange County and I happened to live down the street from them, so I kept seeing them at shows." Life in Orange County soon provided a new perspective into Burger's operations and influence. "It's just been growing for years. It's very developed now and there's an aesthetic that's prominent," she explains, "I think my perception of Burger Records changed as it grew." Like a lot of people on the scene, Burgerama was at the center of this experiential perception. "It’s all ages, so there are tons of kids going crazy throwing flips off the stage. I think that whoever is experiencing that for this time period is pretty lucky. Unlike shows I went to when I was younger, going to punk shows, I see so many women and so many girls and people of all ages. It gives people an opportunity to connect with like-minded creative, young individuals... just the community. It's really cool to see people come together for music and art." We are happy to premiere Cowgirl Clue’s latest song, "Utopia", an inspiring tune about keeping your passion true. "As far as Utopia goes, I wrote it to connect my life to the industry," she notes, "The lyrics are implying that money may or may not buy happiness, but in the end, the industry is expensive and tries to get the best of you and your utopia. I feel it's important to stay true to yourself in life and you can be who you want to be. That's why I wrote Utopia ;)." Catch up on previous week's releases: Week 1: The Side Eyes "Cat Call" Week 2: The High Curbs "Empty Bottles" Week 3: VAJJ "Honey Pie" Week 4: Wyatt Blair "Pop Your Heart Out" Week 5: The Flytraps "Female of the Species" Week 6: Hammered Satin "Upward Spiral" Week 7: Death Valley Girls "Born Again and Again" Week 8: Vision "Light" Week 9: Meow Twins "Ratchet Witch" Week 10: White Night "Dirty Water"

Great day of skateboarding on the first day of the Euskaltel La Kantera Pro presented by Volcom. For the very first time the contest hosted a women division, and Yndiara Asp qualified first for Saturdays finals, with some tricks that some Pros would like to get in their bag. A bunch of legends such as Nicky Guerrero and Omar Hassan signed up in Masters division and local host Alain Goikoetxea made his debut in this category with qualifying in first, destroying his home park like only him knows how to. In the Pro division, qualifiers went down and the action didn t stop, skaters battled for 9 spots to join the 7 invited pros of the Saturday semifinals (Grant Taylor, CJ Collins, Kalle Berglind, Ivan Federico, Danny Leon, Robin Bolian and Rune Glifberg). Unfortunately young sensation Marcel Cama didn t make the cut as well as Swedish smooth operator Aron Buzas, see full results below. The day ended with big concerts for all and competitors BBQ behind the ruins to keep the vibes high. Stay tuned for finals day today and if you can t make it, check out the live webcast from 4pm CET lakanterapro.com Also don t miss the shenanigans and behind the scenes @volcomskate #lakanterapro

Volcom is proud to announce its VOLCOM X Georgia May Jagger premiere collection.
Volcom and Georgia May Jagger announce the premiere launch of Volcom x GMJ. Georgia May together with Volcom brand ambassadors Tina Kunakey, other hand-picked guests, and media celebrated the launch of Volcom x GMJ line at Pavillon Puebla in the heart of the Buttes-Chaumont Park in Paris. The event featured a Volcom x Georgia May Jagger pop-up shop, a complimentary custom screen-printed t-shirt stand, a vintage analog photobooth, open bar and an incredible music selection spinning nonstop. Guests danced all night long to a four DJ lineup. The night kicked off with Josephine De La Baume, followed by DJ tube and DJ Lube and Siobhan Bell. Josh Ludlow wrapped the night for Georgia and a full dance floor (only after extending his set an extra twenty minutes by crowd demand). Pavillon Puebla held a packed house, when the night shut down no one wanted to leave and we couldn't be happier about it. Check out party photos and video:

Week 10: White Night "Dirty Water" | Volcom Cyber Singles Club
Burger Records x Volcom present Cyber Singles Club, features music from the newest breed of Burger Records stars in the making, recorded exclusively at Volcom Studio, and will be released for free download & streaming every Monday for 20 weeks beginning April 17th. Week 10: White Night - "Dirty Water"   Grab the free download When attempting to describe the Fullerton / Anaheim, CA quintet, White Night (to those who have yet to give them a listen), one may face a challenge. Are they punk? Are they psychedelic? Are they attempting to go back to the days when pop or even pop-punk weren’t insulting things to be compared to? Or are they just plain ol' good time, hard-nosed rock and roll? The truth of the matter is that White Night is all of these things and more. While more bands are working to blur the traditional boundaries of nearly every genre, White Night fully embodies that melting pot sound which is reinvigorating rock and roll and its many sub-genres today. Like many bands that came before them, White Night was conceived as a way to meet girls. Guitarist and vocalist Frank Agnew, bassist and vocalist Jon Raines and drummer Mike Gonzales had previously played in bands embedded in the Orange County hardcore scene. But it wasn’t the best scene within which to reach girls, so they switched things up. "White Night started playing in mid-2008," says Jon. "Two of us had been playing together for a few years before that in Pterodacdudes and the Frank-fronted Shred Savage for about the same amount of time. Both bands were on the heavier side and we thought it would be cool to play stuff more pop-influenced and maybe more girls would come to the shows. The new sound soon found a home with their friends at Burger Records. "Sean and Lee are friends from way back," explains Jon. "Mike played in Thee Makeout Party for a bit and we've all been roommates at one point or another." The label would release White Night’s debut cassette Tour EP in 2009 which was followed by Immortal cassette in 2010, and most recently their full length album Weird Night in 2016. The band including Troy Rounsevllie on keyboard and Kevin Carle on guitar are working on their next record. They are also anticipating their first tour in Japan. Tour starts on July 20 and all Japanese dates are with Lenguas Largas from Tucson, Arizona. July 21 - Yokosuka Fuck Yeah w/ Mule Team, EXTRA PLANTS July 22 - Shimokitazawa Basement Bar (daytime show) w/ Number Two July 23 - Ashikaga Soundhouse Pico w/ Broken Mountain July 24 - Waseda ZONE-B July 27 - Tokushima w/ Silver Wigs July 28 - Osaka w/ Sanhose July 29 - Kyoto w/ Sanhose Catch up on previous week's releases: Week 1: The Side Eyes "Cat Call" Week 2: The High Curbs "Empty Bottles" Week 3: VAJJ "Honey Pie" Week 4: Wyatt Blair "Pop Your Heart Out" Week 5: The Flytraps "Female of the Species" Week 6: Hammered Satin "Upward Spiral" Week 7: Death Valley Girls "Born Again and Again" Week 8: Vision "Light" Week 9: Meow Twins "Ratchet Witch"
