Cheryl and UK youngster Aimee Fuller recently partnered up in Silverton Colorado to try to forget about the hectic contest season they both are slowly leaving behind. The whirl wind of the major one, the Olympics is now settling down and they can both finally focus on having fun again, being true to riding and doing it for themselves instead of some dictating federation.
Transworld Snowboarding covered their story and this is one of the comments they got from Cheryl:
“I felt kind of like I threw my whole season away just for that one contest,” she says. I’m never going to say no to the X Games again just because I have to ride the Olympics. You’re stuck with the federation and contracts and they won’t let you do what you really want to do, which is just snowboard. But I’m definitely stoked I have a couple more months left to go into the powder and really enjoy myself. It’s just a totally different feeling now that the Olympics are all done.”
Cheryl didn’t have an easy last season starting it with a severe injury but now she’s enjoying herself again and that’s what we love to see!
