Boom! The Volcom Peanut Butter & Rail Jam Tour stopped by at the Red Bull The Station Park in Nesselwang, GER. Last weekend, a lot of people came by to enjoy the perfect weather, the free food and drinks and a lot of gnarly tricks going down the Atagge obstacle.

The obstacle was sectioned into 3 zones starting with a straight rail over to the donkey-to-downrail up to the china bank. Riders were able to combine the different zones and to ride the obstacle to its fullest.

The contest started with the 15 & under category where young gun Nico Winkler left no doubt for the judges, to take the 1st Place home.

Dylan Norder- FS Lipslide

The open category started off with two insane heats where all the riders were highly motivated and steadily throwing one banger after another down the obstacle, last year global PBRJ champion and Belgium rail shredder Kevin Trammer was annihilating the park, but at the end of the day, our German boy Johannes Schaal pulled out his hammers with a clean & fast style and therefore won the flight ticket to the PBRJ global champs in Mammoth mountain, plus an extra bonus of 200€.

A great day with awesome weather, good vibes, and some gnarly snowboarding went by and everyone was having a lot of fun! Thanks to the Red Bull Team, the shaper gang and all other people involved who made this event as great as it was.

We would like to say special thanks to the Sponsors for supporting the Event with a lot of goodies & prizes: Nitro Snowboards & Union Bindings,

Daan van der Linden 2017 European Skater of the Year
It's been one crazy year for Daan van der Linden and to top it all of he was awarded with not only 'Video Part of the Year' for his part in Holy Stokes! a Real Life Happening , but he was also crowned 'European Skater of the Year' for the SECOND year in a row at the Bright European Skateboard Awards in Berlin, Germany! Let's take a brief look at what Daan has accomplished in the past year below. After last years announcement that Daan was crowned 2015's 'European Skater of the Year' we added him to the global skate team, Vans and Anti-Hero also followed suit. To recap his 2015 we put together 'Volcom Presents: Real Life Happening - Daan van der Linden' which was a compilation of all his best clips of the year. Daan Backside Noseblunt on the July issue of Thrasher, came with a FREE poster and sticker too! Photo: Keppens Prior to the release of our latest full length video Holy Stokes! a Real Life Happening , Daan landed himself on the cover of Thrasher Magazine's July issue with a NBD noseblunt in San Francisco that ended his part in the video. Daan making it look way too easy on this cobblestone tight tranny transfer in Chinatown, NYC Photo: Saari Many were amazed at Daan's part in Holy Stokes! a Real Life Happening , Vans and Anti-Hero also put Daan on their global teams which led to more trips and footage. After Holy Stokes! a Real Life Happening's release in Los Angeles, we took Daan on the road for the premiere tour from SF to NYC and around the world. Check out the afternoon we spent in NYC the day before the New York City premiere! In his Thrasher interview, Daan was asked which trip he enjoyed the most while filming for Holy Stokes! a Real Life Happening . His response was the one we went on to Australia & New Zealand with Thrasher to visit our friend Lee Ralph. With a heavy crew and great spots, Thrasher filmer P-Stone had to make 3 edits with all the footage, not to mention that New Zealand also had an entire section in Holy Stokes! a Real Life Happening . Speaking of excess footage, we can't forget Daan's 'Over Stokes' and footage in the Euro Stokes edit too! In July we headed back to NYC for the Volcom X Anti Hero collection video that turned into Thrasher Magazine's The Vickie Report In August Anti Hero surprised Daan in Copenhagen by turning him PRO. Thrasher Magazine's P-Stone was along for the ride to capture it all. Lastly, Daan hopped in the van with us in Austin, Texas to head out to Sound on Sound Music Festival. After Kyle Walker won Skater of the Year he met up with us in San Francisco for the party and is currently back in Australia with Kyle Walker on his Skater of the Year trip! Two SOTY's in the same year on the same team!

WELCOME HOME NOA DEANE
Noa Deane hears Mudhoney. He speaks his own tongue. He chooses tweaked-out throwaways over the same ol' end section air-revos. He hates when shit is cooked, loves when it’s fucken sick. Noa digs oversized tees and loose-fitting jeans, and bunny hops into rock slab pits. His Thrasher hat got stolen at a Goons of Doom gig. Did you steal it? Give it back. Nah, it’s cool, he got a new one for Christmas. Noa loves his mom and dad, loves playing his strat super loud in his bedroom all by himself, loves his mates… absolutely fucken loves them. He’s right into his girl, but he keeps that on the down-low because he wants to give her space, doesn’t want to smother her. He knows the value of lightness. Noa lives in a shed in Ozzie Wright’s backyard, he had photos of Oz on his wall as a grom. Had photos of Alien, of Barney, of Bruce. He wanted to ride for the Stone even then. Couldn’t say why, but could feel why. Freedom. Kin. Moxie. The Stone was fizzing with it. He knew one day it would happen, but first… the usual rounds: boardriders, grom bashings, Nationals, stickers, passports, surf trips, magazine covers, :), Tuff, busted ankles, Cheese II, Strange Rumblings, A.I. Breakthrough, “surfs like Dane, looks like Cobain,” Skegss, Cluster, …the WSL, Pulp, and Blister, until he suddenly arrived here, at this moment, right now. The start of the rest of his life… Noa is a good person. A person who can change people’s perceptions about surfing for the better just by being himself, saying what he thinks, surfing how he feels. He’s the antidote to surfing with a plan, a torch to the spreadsheets that turn riding oceans into a pile of stinking numbers. He’s got the DNA of every surfing miscreant and rabble-rouser and hot-blooded purist in his veins, and the delightful ignorance of youth on his side. He’s the living, breathing embodiment of the Stone. If Volcom had a baby, Noa Deane would be it. Welcome Home... Interview of Joan Duru - Qualification WT 2017
Congratulations goes out to Volcom's Joan Duru for qualifying for the prestigious 2017 World Surf League Tour! The 27 year old Frenchman's main goal this past year was to qualify for the World Tour, and he's done it! Ranking in at the #4 spot, just behind Frederico Morais, Ethan Ewing, and Connor O'Leary, Joan has earned his way to the big stage to compete with the world's best. Expect to see Joan dominating at big barreling spots like Fiji, Teahupoo, and Pipeline, while unleashing his explosive backhand at spots such as Snapper Rocks, Bells Beach, and Lower Trestles! Catch up with Joan and his road to qualification with this exclusive interview below. Joan Duru 2017 Qualification Interview   Do you have any passions or hobbies besides surfing? I like to go mountain biking with my friends or my dad. Tasty beef ribs, some wine with my buddies or spending time with my girlfriend. On the WQS (World Qualifying Series) Tour this year, you seemed calm and relaxed with good results following. Did you change something in the way you train? I didn’t make any changes for a long time, and it seems that it just started working. I’m 100% dedicated to my work with Mayhem, a board sponsor I’ve been working with for one year now. I always had magic boards, which allowed me to mainly focus on the rest. photo: Andrew Christie Is that what we used to call “maturity“ or “gaining experience“? It’s true that priority establishment totally changed my life on the WQS. Priorities make it easier because you can wait for the best wave without being afraid of someone who will get through to the inside at the last minute. The only thing to focus on is trying not to fall down! Tell us about your strong moments during the 2016 season. Starting with the second place at the Ballito Pro helped me a lot, as there were only a few prime events that year. And now, I’m glad, and more than happy that I made a semi final at Haleiwa despite the pressure of the qualification, but the good waves made it amazing! Joan blasting through a Haleiwa section on his way to a strong semi final finish. (photo: Jason Shibata) Working more on your physical and surf training this year definitely seemed to help you. Do you think it's imperative for surfers to train physically as well? I love sports, and I feel really bad if I’m not doing anything, thus training is not a chore, but a real pleasure! Moreover, Maud Le Car (girlfriend and Volcom surf team rider) and a group of young frenchy surfers such as Cloarec, Charly Quivront, and Bastien are lucky to have Charly Ducamp as a personal trainer, who is actually a great coach for me too. On the surf side, I’ve been working with Manu Portet for several years now. He was there to support me at all contests where I made my good results, so the training shows! How will you feel when you will officially be on the elite Championship Tour? Satisfied or pressured? "I feel really excited, but I’m aware of the very high level, so I will have to train harder physically, and technically, so that I can hope to face and beat the world's best surfers."   What are your ambitions on the Tour? To be qualified again for the CT in 2018 would be amazing. What’s your objective going into the 2017 season? To make quarters in the first contests. That would be an epic way to kick off the year. What are your plans to get ready for this new life ahead? I’ll spend winter in France to train hard, spend time with my girlfriend, my family, and my mates. I have to get ready for the upcoming year, because it’s going to be a long, tough year, with many contests. I’m lucky to have Maud by my side in Australia, and I really hope my family will be able to come over one or two contests to fully enjoy it. photo: Andrew Christie The Olympic Games. How do you feel about it? You’re still young and will obviously be a contender to be a member of the French team. Do you have an interest in that? Yes, it’s my dream, and I’ll work as hard as I can to make it happen! How are you going to celebrate this accomplishment? I think we’ll have to rent a room to gather all my friends and family to celebrate. Any last words? I want to thank all the people that supported me: my girlfriend, my family, my friends, and all my sponsors: Volcom, Vans, Mayhem, Creatures of Leisures, and Hercules, who never stopped believing in me for all these years. Let’s celebrate now!!!
