Vale is our French workhorse, always up for getting the shot and never giving up… This untypical, grève-free ethic has not gone by unnoticed, quite the contrary.. For the last 2 years, Vale has deservingly been topping the exposure meters of French snow mags. Filming with close friends Gerome Mathieu and Tyler Chorlton, Vale has delivered outstanding parts with “What We Want Films” for the last two winters, and he will work with them again in the 13-14 season..

What was your first snowboard: An old Sims with a swallow tail and I had wind surf foot strap for bindings! Thanks dad for making this happened.

What was your first snowboard movie that got you hooked: After Bang from the RobotFood crew.

Scariest moment of the season: First shooting day of the season. We were in Switzerland with the What We Want Films crew, very nice conditions, sunny and 40 cm of fresh during the night before. We decided to start with lines, so we hike up with my friend Matt Schaer and we opted for different lines. He went first and after a hit, half of the face started to slide down and I couldn't see him very well but the guys told me with the talkie that Matt was in the avalanche but hopefully not all covered. He managed to get out after a few minutes. But when you are up there and don't see very much what's happening it's so sketchy.. Then it was my turn to drop and I was so stressful for the first line of the season. Everything went right but still it was so scary.

Best trip: Last year (March 12), I went to Whistler for my first time. We were at the best place at the best time! It was FULL of snow with a reset almost every day. And it's crazy up there how fast the weather changes, some days it's dumping during the morning so you ride pillows in the forest and then it's blue bird for the afternoon and it's time to go hit kickers and step down at the glacier. And it was also my first time riding a snowmobile and honestly I loved it! The first day it was a pain in the ass because I got stuck so many times that I wanted to leave the sled and go hiking .. But then you start to get it and you don't want to walk anymore! Thanks to Martin Gallant aka The GodFather who has been the best guide you can ever have during the all trip!

One item you always have in your snowboard pants: Wax! It can save your day.

Besides snowboarding: Take time with my friends, girlfriend and family! This is the only thing I miss during winter. And I love to go surf, play golf and as a frenchy "Pétanque"  is my hobby number one.

Future plans: I'm having a very nice life right now, so the plan is to carry on!

The Muzelle Festival
Arthur Longo and Olivier Gittler were hosting the second edition of The Muzelle Festival last weekend in Les 2 Alpes. It started with an amazing morning session on Saturday with all the friends on the glacier and then followed with a Berlin "kind of" festival down in the station village during the afternoon. Oli and Arthur have worked their asses off to offer everyone such a fun park to ride as the conditions are pretty tricky! A fast and quick tranny snake with some pretty decent hips in the middle of the run, the perfect ingredients for a family shred. After two hours of snow surfing, it got too sharky so we went down to the resort to check the festival out. Anne (Arthur’s GF) prepared with her Berlin Freunde and the 2 Alpes crew a lovely zone including a flea market, a pétanque tournament, a bar, an Indian food restaurant, a lamb roast and a lot more.. The music line up consisted on DJ Fred Marchadier, Leopard Ale, YGGL, Pat Burgener’s Band and Dirty Deep. A couple beers after the party ended in the Avalanche club (as always)… Check out the full report of the event on Fluofun : http://www.fluofun.fr/news/20579-muzelle-festival-reportage-et-port.html Photos by @Annkristin_z Video by @muzellefestival Thanks to everyone involved !
