Caps often soak up sweat and the natural oils from your face. The resulting stains can look unsightly and feel unpleasant against your skin. Let’s take a look at how to remove sweat stains from your caps.
Hand washing is the most commonly used method. Before you start, it’s important to check whether the fabric your cap is made from will bleed colour during washing.
You can test this with a white cloth dipped in hot water. Press the cloth against a coloured area of your cap. If the cloth stays white, you can wash the entire cap.
Apply your cleaning liquid to the inner bands. Then soak the cap in a container filled with a mixture of hot water and laundry detergent. After a few hours, rinse your cap with plenty of water and hang it up to air dry.
You can also spot clean your cap to remove sweat stains. First, check that the colour won’t run. Then spray the stained areas with a stain remover.
To clean your cap, make a cleaning solution using mild shampoo and cold water. Use a cloth to scrub the areas stained with sweat and dirt. Finally, rinse your cap with plenty of water and leave it to air dry.
Some sweat stains on your cap may be more stubborn than others. In these cases, make a cleaning mixture using baking soda. Mix it with hot water until it forms a paste.
Use a toothbrush to apply the paste to the stains and scrub them. Don’t leave the paste on the fabric for more than an hour. Rinsing will wash away the stubborn stains.
These simple tips should help you remove sweat stains from your caps.
